11th International Andros Festival 2025

11th International Andros Festival 2025, July 26-August 23, Open Theater of Andros
The Andros International Festival enters its second decade and continues with the same enthusiasm and creative spirit for the 11th consecutive year. Under the artistic direction of director Pantelis Voulgaris, the 11th Andros International Festival presents some of the most important artistic events of the summer.
The great cultural festival of Andros, held in the uniquely aesthetic Open Theater of Chora, begins on Saturday, July 26, with a concert by Evanthia Reboutsika and concludes on Saturday, August 23, with a concert by Ioulia Karapataki.
The program includes, among other things, the Epidaurus productions of Andromache and Electra, Giorgos Hatzinasios's only summer concert outside Athens, the performance Vanya with Giorgos Karamichos (in an exclusive appearance in Andros after the successful performances at the Art Theater), as well as a concert by the internationally renowned composer Periklis Kanaris. Fivos Delivorias presents two different concerts: one with favorite songs from his career and one especially dedicated to children. Young audiences will also have the opportunity to enjoy the theatrical adaptation of Alki Zei's classic book To Kaplani tis Vitrinas.
Pantelis Voulgaris is also curating a two-day tribute to the great Dutch documentary filmmaker Joris Ivens, in collaboration with the Andros Film Club, which will be presented at Cine Avli.
Local cultural forces were also present at the festival: the Kaireios Library with an event dedicated to Dimitrios I. Polemis and the Andros Music Association with a concert dedicated to Thanos Mikroutsikos. The Festival is organized by the non-profit organization "Friends of the Andros Festival," with the support of the Municipality of Andros, as well as the contribution of sponsors, Andros residents and non-residents, volunteers, and employees.
The 11th Andros International Festival is coming to fill the island's summer nights with light, offering a high-quality cultural experience to residents and visitors alike.
Note from Pantelis Voulgaris
Andros continues to light up our nights. Eleven years at the Open Theater of Chora, in the same light, with the same emotion. Each time like the first, but with greater maturity. Andros has a way of keeping you close. It makes you feel like a local, even if you are just passing through. Here, among the rocks and ravines, in the courtyards and dry stone walls, life meets art. The Andros Festival became an opportunity to look deeper. It became a meeting place—with others, with ideas, with time and our time. Gratitude. For those who believed, worked, participated, shared. For what we have experienced and for what is to come. And above all, for Andros itself, which waits for us every year, like an old friend, as if not a day had passed.
See you soon, then. At the theater, in the spotlight, at August's evening hangout.
